Notes: Modern AU (City of London, Eastcheap)
Summary: That was the problem with working with Harry Percy. For some reason, within ten minutes of starting a conversation with him, Kate's brain short-circuited and she was always left either mouthing wordlessly or finding herself saying things like, "So you thought it would be a good idea to punch Mervyn King at the Budget announcement?"

You couldn't really know where you were going, to get to the Boar's Head.  )

Fandom: Henry IV (Part II).
Characters: Falstaff and Hal (Henry V).
Word Count: 3095
Rating: PG
Summary: One last meeting between a fat knight and the man who cast him aside. “Oh, Hal. Kingship has ruined what little character you had.
Warnings: pass (unless Falstaff requires warning for)

Title: Kingly Crowns of Gold
Author: [livejournal.com profile] chaletian
Play: Henry IV (Part 2) - Shakespeare
Rating: PG
Summary: John of Lancaster has a heart to heart with his newly crowned brother.
Author's Note: Blatantly prompted by my love of this year's fabulous Globe production, this is my first proper attempt at a Shakespeare fic. So, yeah. *waves*

Hal grins, and wedges on the crown at a rakish angle. "Bedford, I think. John, Duke of Bedford. It has a good ring to it."

Title: And Follow Your Dreams Down
Author: [livejournal.com profile] likeadeuce
Play:Henry IV, Part I, modern AU
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] roz_mcclure, who wanted Percies + unintended disasters, and who also digs Bruce Springsteen, jam sessions, and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Summary: Kate Mortimer, Harry Percy, various others, with a wee bit of gender swap.
Notes: Thanks to: friends to be named later, who know garage bands in general and the Carolina music scene in particular. Title and epigraph are from "No Surrender," by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street band, which seems like a Hotspur song if there ever was one.

Play: 1 and 2 Henry IV, Merry Wives of Windsor
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] gehayi
Characters: Falstaff, Doll Tearsheet, Mistress Quickly, Hal, Poins, Mistress and Master Page, Fenton, brief mentions of Hotspur, Kate, and Shallow
Warnings: Foul language, references to prostitution and sex droids, characters expressing misogynistic and fat-bashing attitudes and using ableist language
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Jack Falstaff is a space pirate--but not a particularly good one.
Notes: I have taken some liberties with the prompt in order to keep the worldbuilding internally consistent; I hope that this will be acceptable.

Play: Richard II, 1 Henry IV
Recipients: [livejournal.com profile] faithhopetricks and [livejournal.com profile] speak_me_fair
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Hal/Hotspur
Warnings: Wine, women, and hatesex song.
Rating: R for dodgy garment history, as well as Ennodius quotations and the illustration thereof.
Summary: In an abstract sense, Hal was aware that a prince ought to be present at his father's triumphal tournaments.
Notes: Written in response to Histories Ficathon Madness, in a fit of (what else?) madness. Intended purely for delight rather than education; sorry this was a trifle late.

Title: To pluck bright honor from the top of the world, Ma
Author: [livejournal.com profile] roz_mcclure
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] gileonnen
Rating: 15 (for swears)
Pairings: Hotspur/Kate, kind of Hotspur/Douglas
Warnings: Guns and liquor
Summary: IF Hotspur were a police commander in the 1930s, AND also everyone in the story were genderswapped, THEN he might look like Katharine Hepburn, and anachronisms and tacked-on happy endings would probably abound.
Author's note: Shakespeare condensed characters from the history, and I've condensed characters from the Shakespeare! Another few rounds of this and Hotspur will be the only character in the entire story.

It wasn't raining during the medal ceremony, for once, although the promise of it was heavy enough in the air to make Harriet's hair frizz under her blue cap. )

Warnings: Strong language, vague violence.

Characters: Hal, Hotspur, Kate Percy
Warnings: Slash, threesome. Um, sex.
Rating: NC-17, for language and sex.
Notes: Hal/Hotspur/Kate. Hal/Poins implied.

'Cos, cos, cos...' 'I'm not your coz,' Poins muttered to the table. )

Title: Your Grace
Author: [livejournal.com profile] house_kitten
Play: Henry IV, Parts 1 and 2 respectively
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] mirabehn
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Hal/Poins (cos I love 'em!)
Warnings: bum sex, and a one-sentence reference to what Falstaff gets up to.
Rating: R for explicit (but not too explicit) sex
Notes: I wrote this in under two hours as a last minute and happily undertaken favour so it's a little rough and most certianly not my best work! So I don't know...judge accordingly?
Summary: Hal and Poins get up to a bit of fun in Mistress Quickly's tavern; total PWP

Falstaff and the rest of the Eastcheap gang were up to their usual carousing in Mistress Quickly's tavern. All except Prince Hal who was ensconced in a corner nursing a cup of sack while he watched the others play. The Mistress herself was nowhere to be seen, but she had sent Doll Tearsheet out to lighten Hal's mood. The blonde harlot draped herself contentedly on the Prince, yet even when she was so bold as to sit in his lap he paid her no heed. His steely blue eyes were focused solely on the dark haired man currently matching Falstaff in a drinking contest. )

Title: A Good Jest For Ever (1 H IV 2.2.94)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lite_bright
Play: I + II Henry IV (plus hilariously inept quoting of Henry V, by Pistol)
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] borusa
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Pistol, Bardolph and Poins.
Warnings: (if necessary) None. Well, drinking. Also Pistol trying to whore it up.
Rating: PG
Notes: Very silly. Not really much redeeming value. Like beer, in a way.
Summary: Pistol has a good time. This is not such a great time for everyone else. Everyone may play beer pong. Whatever, internal chronology; set in some nebulously pre-modern pubs. Hackneyed attempts at rhetoric and humor follow.

It is an unseasonably warm evening for April, and the matted and rich-smelling rushes from winter have been turned, leaving their heavy stench in the air. The tavern-keeper and his mistress purposefully bustle, limiting their movement by foreknowledge, practice, and simple lethargy, as their lone patron sluggishly naps. )

Title: Slovenly Unhandsome
Author: [livejournal.com profile] gileonnen
Play: Richard II and 1 Henry IV
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] lite_bright
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Hotspur, Kate, Hal
Warnings: Historical AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: [livejournal.com profile] lite_bright's prompt was enticingly nonspecific, so I took a few ideas from it (student AU, unpleasant Hal, Percy Sr.) and ran away laughing. Hope that works for the recipient!
Summary: War is Hell; reconstruction is purgatory. Hotspur recuperates from World War II.

After the war, Hotspur doesn't trot off to school like what mates he had could afford it--smacks to him of middle-class pretensions, and he's one to call a spade a spade. While everybody's lucky charm Prince Harry is nancing about in Cambridge or Oxford or wherever the fuck he went, Hotspur's helping to rebuild fucking Germany. )
