Thank you! I'm glad you checked it out for the Bruce. :)

Now I feel challenged to come up with a paragraph summary of Henry IV part I that that explains how it's relevant to this story. Hmm. "Senator Bolingbroke" = Henry IV, who got the throne by dodgy means; "Hallie" = prince Hal, who stomps around drinking and whoring instead of doing proper princely things; "Harry Percy" = Hotspur (also known as Harry Percy), fast-talking opinionated and possibly not too bright but with very uncompromising views about his place in the world and also completely dead sexy; "Kate Mortimer"= Lady Kate Percy (nee Mortimer) who spends a lot of time being frustrated by her husband going off to war and not telling her anything. In the play, things do not end well for Hotspur, while Prince Hal becomes Henry V and wins big victories against France. Though I tend to think in the modern AU, Hotspur and Kate have better survival skills (Hallie not being able to count on either just walking back into her inheritance or having a country to invade to make people forget about her misspent youth).

ETA: Kate/Hal/Hotspur was my Yuletide fic (http://archiveofourown.org/works/33077) from last year.
