Yeah... that was kind of the reaction I got when I made that announcement in my college Shakespeare class. I don't think the professor ever forgave me. Even Kevin Kline (who I really really like) couldn't bring me around to liking Falstaff.
And I think you'd have to be not only soulless but dead not to see the appeal of Sam West... especially as Richard II (I've only ever seen the pictures of it, but I imagine he was brilliant).
