[identity profile] lareinenoire.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] thisengland
So, as many of you are probably aware, [livejournal.com profile] angevin2 and I are collaborating on a giant AU based on Shakespeare's history plays, spanning from the late Victorian period to the early 1950s. So far, we have the following bits posted (aside from a few small drabbles):

Nocturnal (Richard II, WIP)
To Mock the Expectation of the World (Richard II / 1 Henry IV)
- with a coda Ave Caesar, written by [livejournal.com profile] speak_me_fair
Sic semper traditores (Henry V)
An Exchange of Favours (Henry VIs)

However, we have one large problem. We don't have a name for the Plantagenets. Everyone else has names (York, Lancaster, Warwick, Poins, etc). But Richard II doesn't have a last name, aside from Plantagenet, which really doesn't work. Neither does Bordeaux, for obvious reasons. And we need a name that works not only for Richard II, but also presumably for Edward III, the Black Prince, and so forth.

(We do have an explanation for the whole York-Lancaster thing that involves intermarrying and younger sons and so forth.)

So, we are taking suggestions. Something English and appropriately snooty. Bonus points for any sort of Plantagenet reference.

[Poll #1452042]

ETA: Thank you so much, everyone, for the suggestions! We've decided to follow the Anjou-Pear route and go with 'Perrivale'. However, we promise that someone in this AU will be named Throatwarbler-Mangrove. We just don't know who yet.
