The Lords Appellant section was my favourite part of this piece, with all the competing tensions, but the framing makes it even better. All these threads -- kingship, responsibility, the weighty presence of divine-or-not-divine-right -- come together beautifully throughout, and especially at the end. Wonderfully written!
