(You know, Josephine Tey used Richard II as a vehicle for interwar pacifism in her play Richard of Bordeaux. It's not a very good play for reasons entirely unrelated to its politics and at least partly related to my having very firmly-established characterizations for everyone in it in my head already, but it is interesting.)
