But it turned out to be pretty good that they were around to be Fine Upstanding Citizens during the reigns of Henries V and VI, I suppose.
(Also, their younger sister Philippa grew up to be queen of Denmark and a total badass. I suspect the reason she hasn't been the subject of a historical novel is because it would have an unbearably depressing ending, though.)
