I'd originally wanted Buckingham as the primary POV character, with all those multigenerational voices in her head, but I realized Catesby made the most sense for a short piece. Richard, here, sort of accidentally turned into a Magneto-type, with his scary-but-probably-somewhat-valid point of view, and his habit of taking in emotionally damaged underlings.
