I just love this. You give such a wonderful sense of all the characters, and the sincerity of Richard's love for Robert, Anne, and Edward. I particularly loved Richard's conflation of a saint in ecstasy with the fallen Eve (such a fascinating parallel), and Richard's guilt for counting the months since Anne's death. Beautiful.
