IT IS- Sorry, I had capslock on from the commentthreads of DOOM.
I do hope to get to grad school! It's just, um, far away. But there is never a bad time to hang out in the deconstructionist wading pool! Although, funny story, in Aesthetic Theory today, "speech acts" came up, and I completely fumbled it, mostly because I could not say, "OMG, why are you not all medievalists? You would get this!"
It's an interesting challenge, because of course, it's nice to not be the one who has all of the expectations loaded on you, and it ends up really wearing Hal down, right away, as soon as he starts living up to those. However, oh, John. I was thinking about the parallels to the negotiation right before Shewsbury, when Henry IV offers Hotspur and the rebels an out; how much of that is really genuine, or does John learn how to be a sneaky bastard there? I guess this just goes back to the Lancastrian family Issues, which totally gets a capital letter.
